ABOUT US

Scroll down to learn more about us!

Our Objectives:

In order to implement the climate action plan created by the Task Force, we need an Office of Sustainability by the end of 2021

In order to protect our physical assets and the value of our education, we need to set a deadline for reducing greenhouse gas emissions to 50% by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050 with no offsets for scopes 1 and 2

We demand the successful implementation and execution of the final climate report

Our Principles:

The environmental movement has a history of racial inequality despite the inextricable connection between the negative impacts from climate change and communities of color. To acknowledge this history, and actively push forward, we operate by the following principles to encourage inclusivity and cooperation within the environmental movement at Rutgers.

1.

Transparency

All information is available to members at all times.

2.

Availability of Opportunities

The invitation to join new coalitions, participate in internships, or develop a working relationship with a professor are not reserved for Eboard members or only extended to a few members of the club.

3.

Open Criticism

To allow for every club member to contribute what they can, it is important for us to evaluate and consistently re-evaluate the way we distribute tasks among members. And, for any who feel uncomfortable speaking up, there is perpetually an anonymous feedback form they can use.

4.

Understanding the Movement

Some of us have more time to give than others, but everybody should be able to participate in any way they can. All action and planning taken surrounding our climate campaign is summarized in weekly emails and this presentation - anyone can jump in at any time.
